Courtney Andersen

Singer + Performer

I am

a born + raised New Orleanian.

The initial foundation for my creative expression began in both art + dance from an early age. I began performing for the New Orleans Ballet Association + the New Orleans Recreational Department. Through that exposure, I was accepted into the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts summer program with a concentration in Dance + studied under famed Choreographer Karen Hebert, forming the techniques that would set me up for a professional performing career.

As a teenager, I became involved in high school theatre productions + community theatre, building my confidence + transitioning from chorus gal to leading lady. In addition, I made a living as a character performer for children's birthday parties. I was inspired to take a leap of Faith, Trust, + Pixie Dust to audition for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as a character performer. What a dream come true! I was honored to have lots of Mad Tea Parties with Men in Crazy Hats + frequently flew into Pixie Hollow to Tinker around with the fairies and Peter.

BUT, it was time to hang up my wings for a new gig, One that would shape my adulthood, moulding me into the woman I am today. I became one of the original Victory Belles for the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. We were a vocal singing trio, very similar to the Andrews Sisters, performing the beautiful songs of the 1940's, reveling in the iconic vintage pin-up/ girl next door persona, complete with victory rolls + red lipstick. During a span of eight years, we were honored to be ambassadors of the Museum, performing for thousands of active duty military men, women + veterans. Some highlights include The Cincinnati USO, Andersen Airforce Base- USO Guam, Ft Bragg,- NC, NFL and NBA games National Anthems + Halftime Shows, Wrigley's Stadium 7th Inning Stretch, The Gary Sinise Foundation Honor Flights, Ellis Island Medal of Honors Ceremony, + countless others. Our home base at the Museum was BB's Stage Door Canteen where I graced the stage with Big Bands as a Victory Belle, Betty Grable, Betty Hutton, + Marilyn Monroe.

The tides were changing + I decided it was time to grow in other performance venues. I auditioned for Carnival Cruise Lines as a rockband singer + quickly shed the vintage look for a more modern version of myself. Ship life welcomed me in with open arms, performing for thousands of guests nearly every evening in an array of musical genres from Motown, Disco, 1980's rock + pop, Country, 1990's tunes, + beyond, Three contracts gliding on the sea was enough to "wet my whistle."

I currently reside in Lima, Peru with my husband + newborn baby.
